    Today we visited Mr. Idiris on the main day of Babbar Sallah, the Festival of Sacrifice. The day started with a prayer in the outdoor mosque. Later the actual moment of sacrifice came, and our guide and interpreter Suleiman also assisted in the procedures.

  • Arrival in Abuja

    Our flight arrived exactly on time in Abuja. The smell of burning wood, familiar for me but new for Hans, was immediately mentioned by both of us.

  • Upcoming fieldwork trip

    I am working on the preparations for our upcoming fieldwork trip to Nigeria, from November 23 through December 10. Buying tickets, organizing visas and places to stay… that sort of thing! I will travel with Hans Veldkamp, a new team member and experienced cameraman.
